Under 12 Lions

Our Under 12 Lions are led by a dedicated coaching team of Ash, Paul, Mark, and Ryan, who work together to support and develop a talented and enthusiastic group of players. As the team continues to grow, there is a strong focus on helping each player improve both individually and collectively within a team environment.

At this stage of development, sessions place increased emphasis on fitness, passing, and positional play, helping players gain a deeper understanding of the game. The coaching team encourages players to build confidence, improve decision-making, and develop their awareness on the pitch, all while maintaining a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.



The team competes in league fixtures, with home games typically played on Sundays. Kick-off times may vary depending on opposition and pitch availability, and occasionally matches may be scheduled on Saturday mornings.

Training sessions take place every Tuesday evening, with seasonal adjustments:

• April – October: 5:30pm – 6:30pm on the grass pitches at Colne Valley High School
• Winter months: 7:00pm – 8:00pm on the 4G pitch

These sessions are designed to be engaging and challenging, combining technical work, fitness training, and match-based scenarios to support player development.

What to Bring

Players should arrive fully prepared for both training and matches with:

• Football boots (or trainers for indoor sessions, if required)
• Shin pads (required at all times for safety)
• Appropriate clothing suitable for the weather conditions
• A drink to stay hydrated
• Any necessary medication (e.g. inhalers), clearly labelled and accessible
